Meet the Organizers of Cirque D'Illusion
The Cirque D'Illusion Organizing Committee consists of seven students enrolled in the Event Management program at Algonquin College. We are hard-working, passionate, and dedicated individuals who are excited to host this event in support of the Children's Wish Foundation.

Candice Hay-Janke
Candice is 23 years old and is currently living in Ottawa while she is in school; however, she grew up in the home of the white squirrels; a small town called Exeter. Prior to the Event Management Post Grad Program at Algonquin College, she completed the Child and Youth Worker and the Hospitality and Tourism Management Programs at Lambton College in Sarnia, ON.
Life is still full of many surprises; however, she hopes to utilize the skills she has gained from each oneof the amazing courses and start an exciting career creating memories that last.
Jen Hardy
Jen is a 24 year old student at Algonquin College. Just like her sister, she grew up in a small town outside of Toronto before moving to the beautiful city of Ottawa during her teen years. Before taking the Event Management program, she graduated from Hospitality Management, also at Algonquin. She hopes to pursue an exciting career in the event industry that will fulfill her passion for working with people and as part of a team!
Katherine Craig
Katherine is 21 years old and is a recent graduate from Carleton University with a degree in Psychology. She hopes to find full-time work after graduating from the Event Management program with a medical association where she can combine her two areas of studies. Her hobbies include reading, getting crafty with DIY projects, and sports such as volleyball and snowboarding. Fun fact? Her favorite spa service is getting a massage!
Jacquie Hardy
Jacquie is 23 years old and has been living in the beautiful city of Ottawa for about 10 years now. She grew up in a small town outside of Toronto. She previously has graduated the Office Administration – Executive program at Algonquin College and wanted to expand her knowledge by going back and taking the Event Management program this year. She is very excited to further her career in the event industry, which has been a large interest of hersfor many years.
Jess Poon
Jess is a 23 year old student originally from Vancouver, BC. She recently graduated from the University of Ottawa with a degree in Communications before pursuing the Event Management program at Algonquin. She is also an active member of her local sorority here in Ottawa called Xi Delta Theta. One of her career goals is to become a Wish Grantor for the Wish Foundation and she is excited to get her hands dirty in this fantastic industry!
Sara Lalani
Sara is 23 years old and new to Ottawa this year. She most recently lived in Hamilton where she attended McMaster University. While there, she completed an honours degree in Religious Studies and Sociology, as well as an affiliated Business Studies certificate from Mohawk College.
Sara is excited to get started in the event industry and hope to work a few concerts and festivals and gain experience in different cities across the country!
Stephanie Maurice
Stephanie is 20 years old and is from the beautiful Prince Edward County. She currently lives in Ottawa while attending school. Before taking the Event Management program, she graduated from the Interior Decorating program also taken at Algonquin College. Her end goal is to merge her two passions together and start her career in the work field after graduating this year.
